Three years ago, we were discussing where we wanted to travel for our next 2-3 week vacation. How about Argentina? Mountains, lakes and a world-class city? Yes, please! But we wanted to be able to travel on our own, and hopefully camp along the way. After some discouraging research about the cost of renting a camper (and a few subsequent beers), one of us asked a seemingly ridiculous question - "Can you drive to Argentina?" One google search later, and we were fully obsessed with the Pan-American Highway. And then with all the places along the way we had never even considered as destinations. Six months later, we bought the van. Since then we've been preparing both ourselves and the van for a seriously epic road trip.
We really want to express our appreciation to those folks that made us realize that driving to Patagonia is not only possible (even in a Sprinter), but likely to be the best decision we've ever made:

And to the current travelers making us anxious to get on the road (a few of whom, if they're slow enough, we might be lucky enough to catch up to and meet in person):
  • Too many to list! You know who you are - we like all your Instagram posts ;)
